Knowledge Discovery in Databases (or KDD)

KDD is often used as a synonym for Data Mining. Some people differentiate KDD as the whole proccess including Data Preprocessing? and other stages as outlined in Crisp-DM? and use "Data Mining" to refer to the modeling step.
